Currently, the Wallenpaupack Area High School (WAHS) and Wallenpaupack Area Middle School (WAMS) administrators and counselors are preparing to work with students on next year's selection of courses. All parents of eighth-grade students are invited to a scheduling presentation on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 6:00 pm in the WAHS auditorium. Your child is welcome to attend the evening program.
Wallenpaupack Area High School Principal, Dr. Christopher Caruso, will discuss the transition to the High School and the WAHS counselors will speak on the various programs and answer questions about course selection and planning for post-secondary education. Wallenpaupack Area Middle School Principal, Mr. Jim Kane, and WAMS eighth-grade counselor, Mrs. Danielle Mangan, will be present to assist in explaining the scheduling process.
Your child will be attending a similar program on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 8:30 am in the WAMS cafetorium. In addition, the eighth-grade students will be taking a tour of the Pathway Programs offered at WAHS on Monday, February 3, 2025, or Tuesday, February 4, 2025. All parents/guardians will also have an opportunity to tour the Pathway Programs at the conclusion of the meeting on February 5.
A copy of the WAHS course selection guide is provided online at http://www.wallenpaupack.org/wahs/scheduling.asp. Please review this information prior to the evening program, as it provides extensive information about programs of study available at WAHS. We look forward to seeing you there.

Attention Parents/Guardians: Peanut Allergies
This year we welcome several students to our school with allergies to peanuts and/or other nuts. We invite your help and cooperation to help them stay safe.
Reactions range from mild to life threatening. Any exposure to peanuts or nuts may cause an allergic reaction that requires emergency medical treatment. To reduce the chance of this occurring, we are asking that you do not send any peanut- or nut-containing products to school with your child that will be eaten in the classroom.
We look forward to working together with you to have a wonderful year. If you have any questions, please call Mary Ellen Olsheski, School Nurse, at (570) 226‑4557 ext. 3060.
