The PA Polar Pop is a campaign designed to support inclusion and to raise money to support Special Olympics and Unified Champion School Programs. The mission of Special Olympics PA (SOPA) is to provide year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Additionally, SOPA strives to create a unified world by promoting inclusion, uniting communities, and changing attitudes. Through Unified Sports, SOPA brings together individuals with and without intellectual disabilities as equal teammates in training and competition. This program promotes respect and acceptance and facilitates meaningful relationships between people of all abilities.
We are asking students to bring in a small monetary donation to Special Olympics to see some of their favorite teachers and staff get popped with ice cold balloons on February 21st. Homeroom teachers will be accepting donations during homeroom the week of February 18th through February 21st.
Sincerely, Marilyn Jansco On behalf of Unified Club and Sports and Special Olympics
