Student Assistance Program (SAP)
From the referral process to interventions, the Guidance Department takes an active role in the Student Assistance Program at the North Intermediate School.
What is the function of the SAP Team at the Wallenpaupack North Intermediate School?
The SAP Team is a team of faculty and staff who work together with your input to address your child's academic and/or affective needs.
Who is eligible for SAP?
Any student in grades 3, 4, or 5 who is experiencing academic difficulties. Also, any student who is experiencing behavioral difficulties or exhibiting affective concerns.
How does your child benefit from SAP?
Your child will receive the academic and/or behavioral assistance necessary to address his/her educational needs under the direction of trained counselors and teachers.
What is the role of the parent in SAP?
The parent is notified by telephone or letter of your child's referral to the SAP Team. Previous conversation with the classroom teacher will inform you of the SAP referral as well.
