Dear North Intermediate and Middle School Families:

We invite you and your children back to our campus in order to pick up personal items from lockers or classrooms, and to return all school-issued resources, including textbooks, library books, ARC novels, and musical instruments, to name a few. Lockers and classrooms have been cleaned out and these items have been prepared for your child. This process will occur by building according to the following dates and times:

When you arrive on campus, please stay in your vehicle and follow the directions of our staff who will be directing traffic. When you arrive at the end of Atlantic Avenue, you will turn right and be directed into the North Intermediate/Middle School bus lanes. You will pull into one of two lanes that will form in front of the canopy area at the Middle School. Upon arrival, a staff member will greet you and assist in placing your child's items into your vehicle and retrieving resources that you are returning to the school.

Prior to your arrival to the Middle School and North Intermediate School, your completion of two tasks would be greatly appreciated:

  1. Prepare items to be returned to school in a bag that is labeled with your child's homeroom teacher's name, your child's name, and grade. Consider placing these items in your trunk or in a rear seat, so that they may be easily retrieved by a staff member eliminating the need for you to exit your vehicle.

  2. There will be a variety of staff members assisting who may not recognize you or your child; therefore, be prepared to state your child’s name, homeroom teacher’s name, and grade upon arrival in order to move our pick-up/drop-off process along quickly. Feel free to create a window sign with this information if you prefer.

In addition to the receipt of personal items, eighth grade members of the National Junior Honor Society will receive certificates and Golden Torch Awards. North Intermediate families who purchased Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders’ tickets using cash prior to our closure will receive refunds at the pick-up/drop-off.

If you are unable to pick up belongings on your child’s assigned date or have any questions, please email your child’s principal.

Dear Current 5th Grade Families:

Each Spring, WAMS hosts a brief orientation to provide you with an overview of the Middle School as your child prepares to transition into 6th grade. Unfortunately, our current circumstances do not allow us to meet in person to conduct the presentation this evening. Because this information is valuable, we have put together a video with the pertinent information. Please note that an official decision regarding the opening of school for the 2020-2021 school year has not been made at this time. Therefore, information discussed in this presentation, especially the Fall Open House dates and format, is subject to change.

We hope you are well and find this video helpful. A separate video pertaining to 6th grade band is also available below. Please review the video and this document if your child is interested in participating in 6th grade band.

 



2020 Middle School Yearbook

Attention Parents/Guardians: Peanut Allergies

This year we welcome several students to our school with allergies to peanuts and/or other nuts. We invite your help and cooperation to help them stay safe.

Reactions range from mild to life threatening. Any exposure to peanuts or nuts may cause an allergic reaction that requires emergency medical treatment. To reduce the chance of this occurring, we are asking that you do not send any peanut- or nut-containing products to school with your child that will be eaten in the classroom.

Children may eat what they like in the cafeteria, where a table is available for students with food allergies.

Dress Code Information - Updated for 2019-2020
The Wallenpaupack Area School District has a dress code for our students.  Students and parents should become familiar with the guidelines before shopping for school clothes.  The guidelines can be found here.

Please include:  your name, student's name, date and reason for absence. If you have children in more than one building, each building must be contacted.  For more information, please see the Parent/Student Handbook

Important:  Please be aware that the official opening of school is 7:50 am. Also, please be aware that children arriving after 8:00 am are marked tardy.        

If you are going to pick up a student from school at dismissal time, you must send a note with your child. If someone else is picking up your child, please state so in note. If we do not have a note, the student will be placed on their bus home.


Breakfast Program
Hot breakfasts are served every morning in the MS Cafeteria from 7:30 am to 8:10 am. The price is $1.95. Students who receive free/reduced lunch also receive free/reduced breakfast ($.30).
