Computer Specialist

Job Definition:

  This position is responsible for the installation, securing, and maintenance of end-user hardware and networking infrastructure. This includes the implementation and design of perimeter and internal networking systems, as well as monitoring the performance of these systems. The Computer Specialist will assist with the set-up, installation, troubleshooting, service, upgrades, and repair and maintenance of end-user devices, including, but not limited to workstations (Windows and Macintosh based), laptops, mobile devices (iPads), and printers.

Qualifications / Requirements:

The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of education/experience, training, skill and/or ability necessary.

  • Minimum of an Associates Degree required in computer related field or comparable years of experience (with references)
  • Demonstrated experience installing and troubleshooting workstation computers and peripherals in a network environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Server Software and Virtualization
  • Proficient in PC software (e.g., MS Office, Windows operating systems) and iPad Applications (e.g., Jamf)
  • Network monitoring experience desired
  • Experience with Cisco/Meraki and Ubiquiti Networking Equipment desired
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work without direct supervision and maintain a high degree of concentration
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid PA Driver's License required
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds or greater

Substitute Positions

Substitute Teachers
Substitute teacher candidates may hold a Pennsylvania teaching certificate or an out of state certification. In addition, any individual with a four-year degree in any discipline, is qualified to become a Guest Teacher.

Substitute Nurses
Substitute nurses may be licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Substitute Teacher Assistants
Substitute teacher assistants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be willing to work with both regular and special needs students.

Substitute Secretaries
Substitute secretaries must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and possess basic office skills such as word processing, filing, and the ability to communicate professionally with students, staff, parents, and community members.

Substitute Custodians
Substitute custodians must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to perform basic cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Substitute Cafeteria Workers
Substitute cafeteria workers must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to prepare and serve meals to staff and students and to create a welcoming cafeteria environment.

Substitute Bus/Van Drivers
Substitute van drivers must be at least 18 years old with a valid drivers license and must possess current clearances (less than one year old). Substitute bus drivers must be at least 18 years old with a CDL license (Bus Endorsement-S), and must possess current clearances (less than one year old).
