Professional Staff Positions
Social Studies - Long Term Substitute - High School
Start Date: January 3, 2021
Work Schedule: As per contractual guidelines
Qualifications: Pennsylvania Teaching Certification, Social Studies (7-12)

Support Staff Positions
Positions available at the High School, Middle School, North Intermediate School, and Primary School
Hours: 9:30 am to 1:30 pm (4.5 hours per day)
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Able to create a welcoming cafeteria environment for students and staff
- Ability and willingness to work with the staff in fulfilling job responsibilities
- Able to manage fruit and vegetable preparation
- Ability and willingness to operate a point of sale computer
- Ability to lift 30 pounds or greater on a frequent basis
- Ability to stand, bend, and squat on a frequent basis

Substitute teacher candidates may hold a Pennsylvania teaching certificate or an out of state certification. In addition, any individual with a four-year degree in any discipline, is qualified to become a Guest Teacher.
Substitute nurses may be licensed as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic.
Substitute Teacher Assistants
Substitute teacher assistants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be willing to work with both regular and special needs students.
Substitute secretaries must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and possess basic office skills such as word processing, filing, and the ability to communicate professionally with students, staff, parents, and community members.
Substitute custodians must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to perform basic cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Substitute Cafeteria Workers
Substitute cafeteria workers must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to prepare and serve meals to staff and students and to create a welcoming cafeteria environment.
Substitute Bus/Van Drivers
Substitute van drivers must be at least 18 years old with a valid drivers license and must possess current clearances (less than one year old). Substitute bus drivers must be at least 18 years old with a CDL license (Bus Endorsement-S), and must possess current clearances (less than one year old). For information regarding attaining your CDL, clearances, or becoming a bus/van driver, please contact Pauline Savage, Wallenpaupack Area District Transportation Coordinator, at (570) 251-3000.
- Complete the Standard Application (Teachers & Guest Teachers) or Non-Teaching Staff Application (All Others)
- Obtain the following 3 clearances:
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
- PA State Police Request for Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
- FBI Federal Criminal History Records for Prospective Employees (Act 114)
