Technology Systems Administrator

Position Summary:
Wallenpaupack Area School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Technology Systems Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will have expertise in SIS Management, knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, queries, creation of object reports, and data protections, and be responsible for managing and maintaining the district's technology infrastructure, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and securely. This role is crucial in supporting the educational mission of our schools by providing secure and reliable technology services to students, teachers, and staff.

Qualifications / Requirements:
The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of education/experience, training, skill and/or ability necessary.
- Education - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
- Experience - Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, preferably within an educational environment.
- Technical Skills - Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux), network management, virtualization technologies, and cloud services. Experience with educational technology SIS PowerSchool.
- Certifications - Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or similar.
- Soft Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and an end-user focused mindset. Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Management - Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components within the school district.
- Monitoring and Maintenance - Regularly monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Security - Implement and manage security measures to protect data, systems, and networks from potential threats, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district policies and regulations.
- Backup and Recovery - Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data security, integrity, and availability in case of system failures.
- User Support - Provide technical support to end-users, including teachers, staff, and students, resolving hardware and software issues promptly and effectively.
- Documentation - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Upgrades and Updates - Plan and execute system upgrades and updates to keep technology infrastructure current and efficient.
- Collaboration - Work closely with other IT team members, school administrators, and departments to support various technology projects and initiatives.

Substitute Positions
Substitute Teachers
Substitute teacher candidates may hold a Pennsylvania teaching certificate or an out of state certification. In addition, any individual with a four-year degree in any discipline, is qualified to become a Guest Teacher.
Substitute Nurses
Substitute nurses may be licensed as a Registered Nurse
or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Substitute Teacher Assistants
Substitute teacher assistants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be willing to work with both regular and special needs students.
Substitute Secretaries
Substitute secretaries must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and possess basic office skills such as word processing, filing, and the ability to communicate professionally with students, staff, parents, and community members.
Substitute Custodians
Substitute custodians must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to perform basic cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Substitute Cafeteria Workers
Substitute cafeteria workers must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to prepare and serve meals to staff and students and to create a welcoming cafeteria environment.
Substitute Bus/Van Drivers
Substitute van drivers must be at least 18 years old with a valid drivers license and must possess current clearances (less than one year old). Substitute bus drivers must be at least 18 years old with a CDL license (Bus Endorsement-S), and must possess current clearances (less than one year old).
