Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment - Overview
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (CI&A) covers a broad range of topics, however, the essence of CI&A answers these questions:
Curriculum: The content and contexts we teach our children in school.
Instruction: Teaching methods that promote the student as an active participant and that are aligned to student learning styles to promote mastery and achievement.
Assessment: Ongoing informal and formal methods to measure student learning which helps teachers plan and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.
Acceleration: Focused instruction on specific skills and content necessary to learn the grade level content at hand.
Enrichment: Additional or different work that expands on the current curriculum.
